The Leafs capped off their visit to Montreal with a 3-1 win last night and now return to Toronto for their next game on Monday. The pre-season is now more than half over, with only three games left this week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
The Marlies first pre-season game is Thursday, so they will obviously open their training camp well before then, and that will require some players be loaned to them from the Leafs.
All of this means that the first big wave of cuts to the Leafs training camp roster will be happening soon, possibly as early as today. Waiver news is at 2:00 p.m. ET!
And let's see that Nick Robertson goal from last night one more time.

Knies and Minten are the new Matthews and Marner. Too bad Minten will probably wind up back in junior hockey for one more season, but next year we'll have another fantastic duo lined up.

Off the ice, Matthew Knies and Fraser Minten are becoming close friends.
And on the ice, they've dominated preseason games on the same line.

Lots of mentions and tributes from around the league for Calgary Flames AGM Chris Snow who died yesterday.

Of note is that Leafs GM Brad Treliving worked with him directly in the past.
