Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!
Are we still riding the high of that comeback over Montréal or what?
What a great game. I was hanging out at my sister's and we never bothered to turn the game on since I arrived when the Leafs were down 3-0. But at 3-2 I had an itch and we turned it on.
Oh what a night!
Now after a day to reflect, and remember how to score seven goals, the Leafs are back in Toronto and are hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at 7:30PM on Amazon Prime.
Once a top of the division team, the Lightning are now hanging out with the Senators and Bruins in the middle of the pack.
That's not to say they should be taken lightly, they still have plenty of firepower still. So that's tonight, for now though let's see what else is going on.
Connor McDavid is having a hearing after cross checking Connor Garland on Saturday nights game

The check in question:

This isn't the first questionable move from McDavid from last week. He throw an elbow to the head, and that move started off the discussion of The Sheet with Jeff Marek on Thursday.
Back on Saturday night the Canadiens Arber Xhakaj tries taunt Ryan Reaves by pointing at the scoreboard when the Habs were up 3-0. That didn't age well.

This is a few days old but I talked about it during the game: Can Matthews make it into the Rocket race, and if so could he touch Mats Sundins career goals record this year?
The record is 420 goals, Matthews has 386. He would need 35 goals the rest of the season to break it. That's a lot, but he has gone on streaks we didn't expect before.
The Leafs have 35 games left so he would have to score a goal per game the rest of the season, and stay healthy through those games as well as the Four Nations Face Off.
That's a big ask, but if he doesn't this year we know he will next.
Would you like any of these players on the Leafs?

The Canucks have been very good this year but most people just want to talk about the locker room drama. How does that go for teams?
Hockey Canada never seems to learn lessons.

Finally, St. Johns is getting ready to welcome the QMJHL back to the island.

Enjoy your day everyone!
