Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!

It was a good day for hockey yesterday up until 8PM last night, but hey, it's that week between Christmas and New Years where we're stuffed to the gills with hockey so you can't win them all.

First up, the Leafs and their loss.

Over at the Daily Hive, Matthews Knies says he'll cheer on Cowen and Minten, but not their team.

And that's a great segue! This segue brought to you by Segway. When you need a segue, Segway!

Slovakia 3 - Switzerland 0

It wasn't a blow out, but getting blanked on the international stage is never fun. Adam Gajan (Green Bay / Chicago) was the goalie with the shutout.

Germany 4 - Finland 3

Huge win for Germany, having previously gone 0-25 at the U20's against Finland they finally picked up their first win! Veit Oswald (EHC München) scored twice for Germany, including a third period game winner!

Czechia 8 - Norway 1

Our first, but not last, blowout of the day saw the Czechs take it to the Nords hard and fast. It looked good early in the second with a 2-1 score but then it quickly got out of hand. Jiri Kulich (Rochester / Buffalo) and Eduard Sale (Barrie / Seattle) both had hat tricks.

Canada 10 - Latvia 0

And Canada's traditional beating of a lower ranked opponent continues. Our own Fraser Minten scored, and Mathis Rousseau (Halifax) got the shutout.

Canada and Slovakia lead their respective groups, and Latvia and Norway at the bottom to fight to not be relegated.

Only two games are on deck for today:

Switzerland vs USA at 11AM Toronto time
Germany vs Sweden at 1:30PM Toronto time

And finally, the reason you are all here:
