Max Everson, the Leafs 7th round pick, 203rd overall, in the 2011 NHL draft has been denied an extension of his NCAA eligibility to continue playing in the next college hockey season, as reported by SB Nation College Hockey.

You may recall Everson was suspended from Harvard and held back one year after an academic cheating scandal in 2012.

In August, the university launched an investigation into students who were enrolled in a government class for allegedly plagiarizing answers or inappropriately collaborating on the class’ final exam, which was take home.

Everson played defence with the USHL's Omaha Lancer's during his year off in 2012-2013 where he scored 1 goal and had 4 assists in 16 games. In the 2014-15 season with Harvard Everson had 2 goals and 4 assists in 37 games.
