Earlier this month, the CWHL announced Prairie Toyota Dealers as one of the league's major sponsors. Prairie Toyota Dealers are playing a critical role in ensuring the best female hockey players in the world will be able to continue to hone their craft in the CWHL.

The deal made Prairie Toyota Dealers the Official Automotive Sponsor of the CWHL.

Part of the excitement of the deal was the announcement of the Prairie Toyota Dealers Clarkson Cup Tour. The tour brings the most valued prize in women's hockey to 26 Canadian cities and towns over the course of the summer.

The Clarkson Cup will be traveling with Calgary Inferno assistant coach Meaghan Mikkelson, and Toronto Furies star Natalie Spooner. The dynamic duo, who were seen on The Amazing Race Canada last year, will be the tours ambassadors throughout the summer.

Spooner has numerous awards to her credit, including a World Championship, and is the only player in women's hockey history to capture an Olympic gold medal and Clarkson Cup in the same year.

Mikkelson, together with her husband Scott, led the Calgary Inferno to one of the most successful seasons in the team's history. She also won a gold medal at the Sochi Winter Games.

The two will also have the nations largest synthetic ice surface accompanying them, giving fans across the country the opportunity to test their skills against two of the best women's hockey players in the world.

The tour kicked-off yesterday, and will be a fantastic vehicle to bring the best women's hockey league in the world to everyone in the nation.

"We are extremely excited to partner with the CWHL and support women’s hockey across the Prairies," said Peter Simpson, Chairman of the Prairie Toyota Dealers Advertising Association. "Hockey is a big part of the communities our dealers operate in and this partnership represents significant opportunity for us to grow a new generation of women hockey stars in our own backyards."
