It was the best of times, it was the overtime of times. We hope it does not lead to another Reign of Terror by the Bruins. Let's have some Monday morning fun with the general league standings. The Maple Leafs sit at second in the Atlantic Division and are healthily in a playoff spot. Here are the current rankings there.

Now let's zoom out to the whole league and sort by regulation wins, and you have to zoom way out to crop this with the Leafs in it all the way down at 23rd in the league.

Yes, that many Leafs games have gone to overtime or a shootout. Of their 16 wins, 7 have been after regulation; not to mention the games lost after regulation of which there has been 6. My conclusion is simply that the Leafs are attempting to give us heart attacks each and every game.

Points, are points, right? The zebra GIFs don't care about the league table because only that division table matters. But... we're still less than 1/3 of the way through the NHL calendar (the slog part of the season begins now) so it would be nice to have some more clean wins to keep the ticker from fibrillating.

Here's the schedule for this week:
Tuesday: Leafs vs. Rangers @ 7:00 p.m.
Thursday: Leafs @ Sabres @ 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: Leafs @ Blue Jackets @ 7:00 p.m.

Ugh, the Blue Jackets again, and oh yeah the Leafs will play them AGAIN next week. Who made up this schedule?

In Marlies news, they kicked the molasses out of New England this week with an 8-2 win over the Providence Bruins on Friday and a 4-3 OT win over the Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday. Here's the OT Finnish to that game.
