The Leafs continue with day two of their break, they will be back in action tomorrow against Chicago. There will likely be a practice today and we'll keep you in the loop if there's any interesting developments there in the comments.

The Marlies have had a busy calendar, with a game Friday night against the Rocket in Laval, which they lost, and a game Sunday evening in Toronto against the Cleveland Monsters, which they won 3-2. Slava Peksa was in net for both games as the Marlies continue to run with goalies signed on try-out contracts as the backup while Artur Akhtyamov is up with the Maple Leafs and Ken Appleby is out with an injury.

Peksa has performed well given the circumstances and workload, this was his third start in five days. If something happened to Peksa, I'm not sure what they would do next. He certainly saved the game for the Marlies here; overhead view at the end of the clip shows it the best.

The win was also good for the standings as the Monsters are behind the Marlies in the division, so this creates a little more space for them to hold on where they are.
