First the Leafs news.

Dennis Hildeby was sent back to the AHL, and given the new rules about paper loans, this has to be a real return to actual playing time. As far as I can tell, the Leafs played on Saturday with 24 players on the active roster, and I cannot find any sign of a move made to allow Hildeby to be called up. I am shrugging this one off as just what happens when it's a weird weekend game time.

We might find out who is healthy and who isn't later today.

The Leafs play at home tomorrow, in Columbus on Wednesday and in Philadelphia on Saturday.

All World Series games are at 8pm Eastern, no matter where they're played, and they're all on the SN main channel and Fox in the US.

The Jays play in LA tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday. The return dates in Toronto are Halloween night on Friday and Saturday (if necessary). Max Scherzer's getting the start tonight.

Capitals fire assistant coach Love after NHL investigation
The Washington Capitals announced Sunday that they have fired assistant coach Mitch Love after an NHL investigation into past allegations.

Some other numbers: the game took over four hours as there was a delay for a fire alarm (no fire discovered) and then they went to OT and a shootout. Species can tell you the tale if he gets five seconds free. I believe Hildeby was in net and David Kämpf was back in the lineup so my joke trade idea to get Minten back can totally work. I'm mostly hoping one of those identical clickbait Leafs blogs writes that up as a trade proposal but I think you have to put things on social media for that to happen.

Which leads me to the other bit of news: there isn't any since it was a dull Sunday. We'll see where things are at later if there's a practice.

Happy Monday, everyone.
