Detroit Red Wings @ Toronto Maple Leafs
07:00 PM at Scotiabank Arena
Watch on: NHLN, SN1

Note: I saw a mention – no details given – that this game will be streamed on the Red Wings website.

Them

The Red Wings, who reduced their roster to only 40 players, appear to be sending a serious team to Toronto today. The formation is a new look, moving middle-six centre Andrew Copp to the top-line wing. A replacement for defender Jacon Bernard-Docker skated, so it isn't clear who is taking that spot tonight.

The Red Wings have a fourth pair of Travis Hamonic and Justin Holl as well as a fifth pair of AHLers, who all appeared at morning practice.

There are four goalies on the roster, but no mention was made yet about who is appearing tonight.

Us

The Leafs had what looked like an opening night lineup at morning skate. The fifth line of Calle Järnkrok, David Kämpf and Nick Robertson, along with the extra extra man Michael Pezzetta, were all in grey "not playing tonight" jerseys but they're all still on the roster for now.

Stolarz should get the start tonight. However they're going to make the numbers work, this is the opening night lineup.

The Game

This is shaping up to be the real practice game both teams likely need ahead of the regular season. It's still fake, though.
