Toronto Maple Leafs @ New Jersey Devils
07:00 PM at Prudential Center
Watch on: ESPN+, HULU, SN, TVAS
The Leafs last game was at home on March 2 against the Philadelphia Flyers, which Toronto lost by a score of 3-2 in a shootout. The Leafs have a record of 27-24-10 for a 0.525 Points %.
The New Jersey Devils last played at home on March 3 against the Florida Panthers. The Devils won by a score of 5-1 in regulation, and their current league record is 30-29-2 for a 0.508 Points %.
Them
Last year the Devils were third in the Metro and got smoked by the Hurricanes in the first round. Like a lot of teams that made the playoffs last year, they are on the outside this year.
You should know what that means by now, but in case this needs repeating:
The Devils are a 50% team. Their Corsi % (Moneypuck) is 51 and their Expected Goals is 48. Interestingly the Devils are decently okay at Expected Goals Against in all-situations with a number that rounds easily to 3 per game. Their Goals Against is actually under 3.
Their trouble is their Expected Goals For rounds easily to 3. Hundredths seem like too much precision here. They score under expected by half a goal per game.
And that's how they ended up where they are.
This is the SEGABABA for the Devils so the lines are subject to change. Jacob Markström was in net so Jake Allen likely goes today.

Us
If you found the razor thin difference in goals the Devils get and give interesting, I'll just mention that the Leafs differential is 0.3 of a goal to the negative per game while their Expected differential is 0.2 to the negative.
Okay, so Woll got the start against Stolarz's old team, then Stolarz – who came in relief of Woll – got the Flyers start, and now we're in Stolarz's home town, so he goes again. Woll gets tomorrow in New York. This means nothing, but it's still what's going on.
Lines today match the last game.

The Game
I'd like to see Easton Cowan look like he did early in the season when he played his way onto the roster when absolutely everyone expected him to be in the AHL this year. That's about it.
