New York Rangers @ Toronto Maple Leafs
07:00 PM at Scotiabank Arena
Watch on: TSN4, MSG

The Leafs last game was away on October 20 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, which Toronto won by a score of 6-2 in regulation. The Leafs have a record of 5-4-2 for a 0.545 Points %.

The New York Rangers last played at home on October 19 against the Anaheim Ducks. The Rangers won by a score of 5-2 in regulation, and their current league record is 7-3-1 for a 0.682 Points %.

Them

Despite losing their goalie, the Rangers are doing well so far this season. Or are they? Their five-on-five play is very average; their power play is average and scores below average. They are very good on the PK, and only one team has a better team Save % shorthanded than them, and you should know who that is without me telling you.

This actually puts them in a good position to counter the Leafs power play and meet them in the middle at five-on-five.

How are they winning? Well they have one of the highest all-situations Save percentages in the NHL, so that turns their very slightly positive Expected Goal Differential in a slightly better actual Goal Differential.

A lot of that is a statistical relic of Igor Shesterkin's five games, but Dylan Garand has also been very good.

Leafs look to be going with what worked for the last two games. And Jake McCabe is ready to play.

He got lucky.

The Game

I don't think the power play can carry the day in this one, so keep on working at all the other things too.
