Toronto's last game was a 3-2 regulation loss to Vancouver on Sunday, while Ottawa's last game was a 2-0 regulation win over Seattle that same day.
Those two events pushed Ottawa back into fourth place over the Sceptres. They have Points % of 0.478 and 0.431 respectively, while the Sirens have fallen to 0.391, tied with Vancouver. Seattle is well back at 0.319.
No one is eliminated from the playoffs yet with each team having six or seven games left, and the Boston Fleet, currently in first place, are the only team to have clinched.
Toronto has six games left, including this one, for a potential 18 points. Ottawa has seven, and leads by two points right now. Toronto has to get three more points than Ottawa do out of the remaining games. Ottawa is heading for a 43 point season, so Toronto needs something akin to 13 points in six games, or a 0.722 percentage.
Two points isn't much of a gap, but the time to make it up has almost run out.
With this being the first of three games against Ottawa, this isn't a "must win" for Toronto, but it will make this picture a whole lot brighter if they take home an RW. It's also time for the hard truth: if the Scepters can't beat the Ottawa Charge, what is the point of making the playoffs?
Lines will be available closer to start time.
