Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!

It's always fun when the Leafs head into Vancouver on a Saturday night. We get the good ol' 'oh boo, 4PM local start, league caters to Toronto' to start and finish it with a 'thank you for beating us, and keeping out pick high'.

It was a shootout loss, so they barely beat the Canucks, but Morgan Reilly got the hometown W, and Auston Matthews pulled off the game winner.

The Toronto Marlies didn't fare as well, with the Laval Rocket defeating the little Leafs 3-2 in overtime. Ryan Kirwan scored his first Marlies goal in the loss.

The Toronto Sceptres and the PWHL are already on their Olympic break, because the women's tournament begins on Thursday with Sweden and Germany kicking things off at 6:10 AM. Canada begins their quest for gold facing off with Finland. Puck drop is 3:10 PM Toronto time for that one.

Of course we can't mention Olympic hockey without seeing if the arena will be done by Thursday?

2026 Winter Olympics: Ice hockey venue still being built five days before Games
Olympic organisers face a race against time to finish the new ice hockey arena in Milan - five days before the venue is due to host its first match.

A rough go in another always fierce Oshawa Generals vs Peterborough Petes game. This time it's a dirty mid-fight slew foot, and a few on-ice punches for good measure. I'm sure there's a suspension coming for Adam Levac.

Finally, let's go back to 1924. When hockey at the Olympics was played outdoors with the Alps as the background.
