The Toronto Maple Leafs will play the Detroit Red Wings outdoors at BMO Field Exhibition Stadium on New Years Day. The game starts at 3:00PM but the Maple Leafs and the NHL are kicking off the party a day early.
Outside the stadium, the parking lot of Exhibition Place becomes a hockey fans palace as of 9AM on December 31st. The NHL Centennial Fan Arena opens up and the Stanley Cup will be there for photo opportunities. Games include shooting challenges, human sized bubble hockey, ticket and swag giveaways and much more, until the alumni game begins at noon.
The day of the big game you can check out all of the above plus Wendel Clark will be there signing autographs, Tim Hortons will be giving away coffee, and tickets to the big game will be given away.
Finally, the Arkells will perform a pre-game concert at 1PM, before the 3PM game.
