Yesterday the Maple Leafs recalled Pontus Holmberg from the Toronto Marlies, sent down Max Lajoie, and rode these lines in practice.

So, with Klingberg the seventh defender on the ice does this mean he's sitting for the returning Jake McCabe, or could Holmberg be up for the pay, or replacing David Kämpf on the fourth line?

Crazier still could he replace Kämpf and both Kämpf and Reaves sit and the Leafs run seven defenders?

Or, crazier still, are they showcasing Holmberg and Robertson, the two newest call ups, in their game against the Calgary Flames tonight in an attempt to highlight a couple pieces in a trade with the Flames for a new defender like Nikita Zadorov?

With Brad Treliving's former team in town he's going to be watching his former players that he knows well. Perhaps an in person pitch could be the key to improving the defence?

Or is this all convenient timing for some rumours to Garner interest in our writing and the radio shows and panel discussions?

No way it's the latter, we have to much integrity for something like that.

We'll find out at seven!

There are a couple other pieces of important news before I let you go on this lovely Friday.

GDB 12.0 Wrap Up: The Oilers reach a new low after losing the Toilet Bowl with San Jose
<span style=“font-weight: 400”>Where do you even go from here?</span>…

Yes, that's right, the Edmonton Oilers lost to the San, Jose Sharks. The big hope for this game was the Sharks claim Jack Campbell on waivers and he shuts out the Sharks, but them losing anyway is pretty fun as well.

And no, Jack Campbell couldn't have saved them as his AHL debut went as expected.

We warned you! We didn't try very hard, but we warned you!

Okay, as much fun as Oilers schadenfreude is, let's end with more Easton Cowen magic

I hate having to cheer for the Knights.

Game time is 7PM! Go Leafs Go!
