The NHL is still on pause for another day before the Stanley Cup Final begins, but it is a big day for the PWHL.

All six existing PWHL teams have to submit their protection lists today for the upcoming league expansion to Vancouver and Seattle (teams still to be named). Teams can only protect three players, which basically means every team is going to lose at least one big name in the coming expansion draft where the teams can then protect a fourth player. It's a bit complicated but the rules are here:

The protection lists are due at noon today, then an exclusive signing window starts for Vancouver and Seattle over the next five days to pick up players, followed by the actual expansion draft next Monday evening. So we will hear from the Toronto Sceptres around that time who is guaranteed to stay and who may be on their way to the west coast.
