Yesterday the Ottawa Senators announced their agreement to purchase land in Ottawa's core for a new arena.

This is a big project that is in the initial stage and will take years to come to fruition.
PTO season seems to get earlier and earlier every year.

Interesting development:
Per both Sport-Express and Championat in Russia, Josh Leivo's contract with Salavat Yulayev has been terminated. No official announcement from the team yet.
— PATRICK WILLIAMS (@pwilliamsAHL) August 11, 2025
He was the Calder Cup Playoff MVP with Chicago in 2022.
He also set a KHL record last season with 49 goals in 62 games.
As should be clear from that Tweet, Leivo is not leaving over player quality. He became, after leaving the Marlies and the Leafs, one of the best ever AHL forwards in some time. He was a legitimate star in the KHL. Their season is about to get underway, so it's possible Leivo wants a job back in North America. He has never had any meaningful NHL impact, but he was at least capable of playing low minutes.
By today they'll be 10 posts on all those sites that look alike with headlines saying the Leafs would be doomed, doomed I say! if they don't sign him.
Former Leafs prospect Mikko Kokkonen has signed in the SHL:

This reads like it's far from a done deal:

Today the unranked from the Community Vote will be revealed, and the real things starts tomorrow.
Happy T25 season, everyone. Here's hoping the temperature actually hits 25 sometime soon.
