Hockey Reference is a cool site, you should check it out.

The OHL originally had this wrong. No harm done, and I hope he has fun in Dallas.
This is weird. Kinda jerkish. Kinda silly.

In PWHL free agency, Toronto lost Hayley Scamurra to Montréal, her former team. They extended Natalie Spooner and Jesse Compher. They also signed goalie Elaine Chuli, giving them three goalies under contract. Coming in at forward is Claire Dalton.
Natalie Spooner and Jesse Compher staying put in Toronto. A trio of big free agents heading west. Montreal hanging on to one of the top defenders on the market.

My story on what we’ve seen over the first two days of the PWHL’s free agent signing window:https://t.co/NDgeRfFFA6
Darren Drger says that right now it looks like Mitch Marner's decision on his future will come later than July 1. He is suggesting that Marner and his family are planning visits to teams. He emphasizes this is how it looks right now. This tallies with Elliotte Friedman's reporting.

Does it mean he might stay in Toronto? No, no it doesn't.
MLSE is looking to use a community rink for a second Launchpad site. But it will cost a league their home:

There was a contretemps in tennis recently that resulted in this:
Aryna Sabalenka has contacted Coco Gauff to apologise for her "completely unprofessional" remarks after the French Open final.#BBCTennis pic.twitter.com/NrVOIg85Gb
— BBC Sport (@BBCSport) June 17, 2025
In her full comments, Sabalenka talked about how she is realizing how her emotions play into her losses in finals.
And this is a real thing. It affects everyone. Sabalenka can see in herself what's going on, and learn from her reactions, even mildly bad ones. The comments were basically her saying she lost the match rather than Gauff won it, which is ye olde bad self-talk as much as it comes off as running down Gauff's abilities.
You can't see this in Sabalenka. You can't know if she's just not good enough on the day or if she's not able to commit to winning in an emotional way. And none of us can know if she was 100% committed to winning if she might not still have lost. Any story about her emotional life is hers to write.
That's it for today: The 2024-2025 season is over. On to the next one.
First up is the buyout window, but there's usually more talk than actual buyouts. Remember, players have to go on waivers first unless they have an NMC.
Have a great day everyone.
