Team Sweden announced their preliminary roster today for the World Junior Championships which begin on Boxing Day in the Czech Republic.

This is the group that will report to camp on December 15:

1. Jesper Eliasson
30. Hugo Alnefelt
35. Erik Portillo

4. Adam Ginning
5. Philip Broberg
6. Mattias Norlinder
7. Tobias Björnfot
27. Nils Lundkvist

10. Alexander Holtz
11. Samuel Fagemo
15. Oskar Bäck
18. Lucas Raymond
20. Nikola Pasic
21. Nils Höglander
22. Karl Henriksson
23. Albin Eriksson
25. Linus Öberg
26. Jonatan Berggren
28. Jacob Olofsson
29. Linus Nässén

The expectation is that Sandin and Adam Boqvist, who has played most of this season in the AHL as well, will be added to the roster. They will likely be released in time to attend some of the training camp. NHL teams must release players when asked unless they are on the NHL roster.

Sweden opens the tournament on December 26 against Finland, and if Mikko Kokkonen makes the final roster, we will have a battle of Leafs prospect defencemen.
