Today the Toronto Maple Leafs announced their roster for the December 31st alumni game, taking place the day before the Centennial Classic.

Unlike a lot of Maple Leafs ‘alumni’ events, this isn’t just a bunch of guys who live nearby (how else could you explain why Brad May keeps making appearances?). This is the real deal of the best Maple Leafs who are still able to play.

Your forwards are:

Mats Sundin, Doug Gilmour, Darryl Sittler, Wendel Clark, Dave Andreychuk, Steve Thomas, Darcy Tucker, Tiger Williams, Gary Roberts, Lanny McDonald, Gary Leeman, Rick Vaive, and Tie Domi.

Your defence:

Borje Salming, Tomas Kaberle, Bryan McCabe, Dave Ellett, Bob McGill, Al Iafrate, and Dimitri Yushkevich.

Finally, your goalies:

Curtis Joseph, Felix Potvin, and Mike Palmateer.

This is a great collection of players to watch in action again, and if you want to drop the cash on a ticket, you can check it out live at BMO Field oh, sorry, “Exhibition Stadium”* on December 31 at 12:30 p.m. It will be broadcast on TV as well, check your listings for what CBC or Sportsnet channel it will appear on.

The Red Wings roster is below and features the big man in charge playing against his new team.

Forwards: Kris Draper, Dino Ciccarelli, Martin Lapointe, Doug Brown, Sergei Fedorov, Slava Kozlov, Brendan Shanahan, Tomas Holmstrom, Mickey Redmond, Darren McCarty, Igor Larionov, Kirk Maltby, Joe Kocur

Defensemen: Nicklas Lidstrom, Larry Murphy, Chris Chelios, Jiri Fischer, Paul Coffey, Mathieu Dandenault

Goalies: Manny Legace, Kevin Hodson

*(If you need to ask for directions call it BMO Field, exhibition stadium was torn down decades ago.)
