Markham Thunder announce new team colours

Markham’s CWHL team will wear black, white, and green this season.

The mayor of Brampton, Commissioner Andress, and players and staff from the Markham Thunder unveil the new logo Chris Tanouye/CWHL

Last Tuesday, the CWHL held a press conference to announce that the Brampton Thunder would be moving to Markham. While many questions about the relocation were answered at the press conference, including the unveiling of a brand-new logo, an important question remained. Along with black and white, what would be the third team color for the newly relocated franchise?

Sensibly, the Thunder chose to answer this question via democratic process and had fans vote on their preference of three colors—gray, green, or teal. After a week of online voting, we have an answer.

While I’m on the record as preferring teal, and I still do, green was my second choice. I have to admit it looks sharp with the black and white (if a little Dallas Stars-ish). It’ll also make the players who have to wear those jerseys happy:

Anyone planning on picking up some Thunder gear in the new color scheme?
