The 209th pick is what the Leafs got when they traded Jhonas Enroth to the Ducks, so let’s hope we can return the favour for the “trade up for Biggs but they get Rakell and Gibson” debacle. Maybe we get ourselves a Zetterberg or at least another Johnsson out of this, eh?

So who is Bouthillier?

The Quick Bio

Zachary Bouthillier is an 18 year old goalie drafted out of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the QMJHL. He’s 6’2” so a tall-ish goalie, and had a 3.42 GAA and .894 sv% during the regular season, but he improved in the playoffs with a 2.76 GAA and .931 sv in six games. Chicoutimi barely made the playoffs, being 15th out of 18 teams, so they weren’t exactly a great team to speak of. They were also in the bottom half of the league in goals against, with Bouthillier playing in 38 of their 68 games. He ranked 21st in the league in save percentage among goalies that played at least 10 games.

He came into this draft ranked 136th by HockeyProspect.com, and 175th by McKeens. NHL Central Scouting had him as the 6th best NA goalie, so not the best but who knows.
