The Seattle Kraken now have until Wednesday, July 21 to make their selections, and they may now officially discuss deals with RFAs and UFAs who are unprotected. If they sign a free agent, that person becomes their selection from the team. They may not discuss signing with any free agents on Vegas or on protected lists.

Seattle must select at least 20 players under contract for 2021-2022. They have to end up with a cap hit at least 60% of the cap ceiling, and they must have 14 forwards, nine defenders and three goalies.

The Kraken’s choices will be announced on television on July 21 at 8 p.m. The NHL should officially announce all the trades Seattle has been involved in regarding Expansion Draft considerations or post-draft moves at the same time.

No other trades or signings can officially be completed until July 22 at 1 p.m.
