This recall will leave the Leafs with a few quarters and two dimes left in the LTIR pool, and some hard decisions to make once Jake Muzzin is healthy.
Sandin has already played six games in the NHL. If he plays in 10, his ELC will not slide, and if he is on the NHL roster during 34 more games, this season will count towards his UFA status.
The Leafs are home today after the debacle in Sunrise last night, and play the New Jersey Devils tomorrow in game 47 of the season. That means there are 36 more games remaining.
