Toronto's last game was Thursday at home to the Charge, which they won in regulation 3-1. They have a Points % of 0.667 after three games played.
The Victoire's last game was on Tuesday at home to New York. Montréal won the game 4-0 in regulation. They have Points % of 0.500 with two games played.
Victoire
The Victoire have two games which both ended in shutouts so far this season.
Their summer was interesting, in that 2024's first-round drafted pick Cayla Barnes went to Seattle. The Victoire have always been more offence than defence, and they chose to let their top offensive defender go. They have renovated their defence around Erin Ambrose, their clear number one, and have added newly drafted Nicole Gosling who has been playing on the top pair.
Abby Roque, formerly of New York, comes right in on the top line with Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey. Hayley Scamurra moved from Toronto to Montréal this summer. Gone is Jenn Gardiner to Vancouver.
As you know, their second goalie Elaine Chuli is now Toronto's tandem partner with Raygan Kirk. Coming into the Victoire is Sandra Abstreiter from Ottawa, and rookie Megan Warrener. Forwards Claire Dalton and Clair DeGeorge also moved to the Sceptres.
How this will all shake out is an open question, as it is for most teams, but the core of the Victoire remains.
Sceptres
The Sceptres handily beat the Charge, easily outplaying them and limiting Ottawa to only 17 Shots on Goal in the game.
Montréal is a tougher out, but so far Toronto's game looks strong and capable of scoring against anyone.
