The Leafs are placing Alex Steeves on waivers for purposes of assignment to the AHL, and making the following cuts today:
Forwards: J. Blandisi, N. Grebenkin, R. Hirvonen, A. Nylander, C. Pare, J. Quillan, L. Shaw, R. Tverberg
— Leafs PR (@LeafsPR) October 4, 2024
Defencemen: M. Kokkonen, N. Mattinen, T. Niemela, M. Pietroniro, C. Webber
Goaltenders: A. Akhtyamov
The following players will not skate today and are listed as day-to-day:
— Leafs PR (@LeafsPR) October 4, 2024
D Jake McCabe (upper body)
F Calle Järnkrok (lower body)
There was no noticeable problem with Calle Järnkrok last night in Detroit, and he played right to the end of the game, on ice for the six-on-five at the end.
As well a new injury was announced today, not official yet:
Nick Robertson is day to day with an upper body injury per Leafs.
— David Alter (@dalter) October 4, 2024
Robertson seemed to jam his arm or hand into the dasher board on a hit at one point, but he went right out for the power play that followed, and played the rest of the game including the final shift. It's unlikely this is very serious.
Still up with the main group are Phil Myers and Marshall Rifai, but no extra forwards were kept.
