The game started out well for the Marlies, and quite hilariously with this first goal.

They were up 2-0 at the end of the first period, but couldn't get anything through in the second, however the Penguins did, scoring on Artie Akhtyamov three times.

Luke Hayme got the game tied up in the third period.

But with three minutes left it all went wrong.

Cowan took responsibility for the turnover after the game. Though the reality is they had a 2-0 lead in the first period and let the Penguins score four times, so that's not all on him being put in a position for that to even happen in the first place.

The next game is on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Coliseum and then the rest of the series will play out in Scranton with game #6 on Sunday and then game #7 on Tuesday, if needed.

Meanwhile in the NHL, the Jack Adams award was handed out yesterday and Jon Cooper won it by a hair over Lindy Ruff. This is actually the first time Cooper has won the award.
