The Marlies started their conference final series against the WBS Penguins last night and while the Penguins scored first, the Marlies came back with force in the second period and it all started with our favourite cowboy.

It was a bumpy ride for the Marlies though, with the Penguins massively out shooting them, including in high danger areas. but Artie Akhtyamov continued his likely exhausting work in net to keep the pucks out.

Things got heated in garbage time at the last minute where the Marlies had already sealed the 4-2 win. Avery Hayes was running amok Xhekaj style, and he was given a penalty and ejected, but on the way off the ice he took a detour and whacked Akhtyamov with his stick and then Henry Thrun absolutely lost it and went after him, but the refs managed to convince Thrun to back off and play out the last few seconds of the game, but no doubt Thrun will have something to say about what happened to Hayes in the next game on Friday. Here's the tally of the damage.

You can see all the highlights here and the kerfuffle at the end in this video starting at about 10:05.

Over in Switzerland, the IIHF World Championship is on today with Canada playing the USA at 10:20 a.m. ET. Also of note, if you want a chance to see Tinus Luc Koblar playing he is leading Norway against the Latvians today at 2:20 p.m. ET. Those games are on TSN.

Oh and in the NHL some team lost, can't remember what their name is, but I know it's pretty hard to start a riot when all your fans have already left the building before the end of the game.

Have a nice day.
