Between Frederik, Carter, Fabrice, and Antoine the Leafs future roster has a much increased "interesting name quotient" compared to where it was at a few short days ago. Bibeau is a 6'2" 200(ish?) lb goaltender that went undrafted in 2012 when he was first eligible but attracted attention this year when he stole the starting job away from Dallas Stars project Maxime Lagace (whose numbers in the Q were atrocious and I have no idea why Dallas signed him).

Bibeau managed to produce a quite respectable .910 SV% this year for the Rocket in 52 games between the regular season and playoffs facing 1548 shots. His final record was 30-14-4 on the year. He made significant strides in his second full season, following his first full year in the Q that saw him post an .868 SV% in 29 games played.

His .911 regular season SV% ranked him 2nd in the QMJHL in save percentage behind Etienne Marcoux, the undersized starter for Blainville-Boisbriand Amarda who posted a .913. It should be noted that a .911 SV% is actually quite good for a QMJHL goaltender as no more than 5 goaltenders in the league have managed to better .910 in any specific season of the past three.

Bibeau's SV% ranked ahead of the higher touted Zachary Fucale during the regular season - though he obviously attracted less attention due to the fact that he wasn't playing on the eventual Memorial Cup Champion Halifax Mooseheads. He finished the year ranked 9th amongst North American goaltenders by NHL Central Scouting after not even being in the rankings when the mid-terms were released.

Bibeau was also one of the 19 goalies invited to the Team Canada Development Camp for the summer ahead of next year's World U20 tournament so he's caught the eye of the national program as well - which bodes well for his potential development. Between Bibeau and Garret Sparks, the Leafs look to keep their pipeline of goaltending prospects going even with the young duo of James Reimer and Jonathan Bernier on the big club.

Here are highlights of a game from October against the Saint John Sea Dogs that Bibeau and the Rocket eventually lost in OT. He still makes some nice saves in the game though.
