Today the Toronto Maple Leafs have announced they will have a 2021 Development Camp. Don’t confuse this event with the Traverse City Prospects Tournament. This event takes place before Traverse City and is held in the Ford Performance Centre, aka the practice rink in Etobicoke.

Players will undergo medicals and on-ice testing on Thursday, September 9, while the first full-team on-ice session and media availability will take place on Friday, September 10, at the Ford Performance Centre.

A total of 39 players (20 forwards, 13 defencemen, six goaltenders) are slated to take part in this year’s development camp, including eight Maple Leafs draft picks.

Maple Leafs Senior Director of Player Development Hayley Wickenheiser and her staff will oversee this year’s camp. In addition to the club’s player development staff, Toronto Marlies head coach Greg Moore, newly appointed Newfoundland Growlers head coach Eric Wellwood and coaches from across the organization will be working with the prospects.
