2020 NHL Draft Day Trades

Only looking at player trades, no pick for pick swaps.

Columbus Blue Jackets Receive: Max Domi, pick #78
Montreal Canadiens Receive: Josh Anderson

Just ahead of the first round, the Montreal Canadiens sent Max Domi to the third NHL team of his short career. Columbus would signed a two year deal with the RFA for $5.3M AAV

Nashville Predators Receive: Luke Kunin, Picks #37, 70
Minnesota Wild Receive: Nick Bonino & Pick #101

The Wild picked up a centre, while the Predators got some much needed cap relief.

Ottawa Senators Receive: Matt Murray
Pittsburgh Penguins Receive: Jonathan Gruden, Pick #52

With Craig Anderson done in Ottawa, the Senators got their new starting goalie.

New York Rangers Receive: Pick #60
Los Angeles Kings Receive: Lias Andersson

Lias Andersson was a seventh overall pick and he was traded away for an almost third rounder. Not sure this was worth it.

Some interesting moves, but nothing earth shattering. Hopefully something more interesting comes around free agency later this week.

That’s the 2020 Maple Leafs draft, folks. How did the Leafs do? Too many obscure European prospect? Not enough good ol’ ontario boys? No trades either. Will the Leafs be able to clear space for big free agent moves? Keep refreshing PPP for the next three days to find out.
