I didn't make it to the end of the Jays game. Proof, if I needed it, that baseball doesn't hold the same interest as hockey for me. I've watched all of the California road trip games for years now, but midnight came, the Jays and the Dodgers were tied, and I was done.

And now that I see it went to 18 innings, I'm very not sorry.

The next game is tonight! Who can pitch, who is still alive for the Jays, we'll find out, but this is turning into a SCF where whoever is least injured wins. And yes, I don't really understand why they pitched to Ohtani which turned the game epic, but then I'm not that up on baseball stuff. I do understand the aggressive baserunning as a risk assessment that is bound to make people mad because it failed. Hindsight goggles for everyone.

Also tonight, with a 6 pm start time, the Leafs take on the Flames.

It's so very en vogue again to be languidly bored with the Leafs. But I found their last game very interesting as they tried to find their game – against a weak team that has its own crises. We'll see who is able to play tonight. William Nylander was a maybe as of yesterday. I liked the third line with Roy, Joshua and Cowan and it's just such a great experience to be able to have a line that isn't stuff from the junk drawer playing 12 minutes a game.

I'm mostly concerned about Anthony Stolarz icing his knees in the locker room after the last game and then needing a game off.

And if you missed it yesterday, Joe Woll is gradually coming back, and Brad Treliving spoke (vaguely) to the media:

Have a good day everyone, and if you did stay up for that ball game, go take a nap.
