It's the May long weekend, the traditional time in Ontario for spring cleaning, transplanting your seedlings from the house to the garden, beer drinking, and the long slog part of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There's not much to talk about not covered yesterday beyond the 4,528.7 potential candidates for the Leafs coach which has already been covered in nauseating detail.

The Sabres are still battling the Canadiens to get to the Conference Final, and that game will be at 8:00 p.m. Saturday night. If the Sabres win, a game #7 will happen on Monday at 7:30 p.m..

The Marlies continue their division final series tonight against the Cleveland Monsters. They won the first game 5-2 after being down 2-0 all the way to the half way mark in the second period. Their next game after tonight is back here in Toronto on Wednesday evening.

Over in Switzerland the IIHF Men's World Championship continues with Canada playing (checks notes) Italy? That game is at 10:00 a.m. ET on TSN1 and I guess a great excuse to crack open that first beer of the weekend.

The Ottawa Charge will face the Montreal Victoire for game #2 of the PWHL Walter Cup final at 2:00 p.m. and that game is also on TSN1.

And, well, that's it for hockey, folks. There's not much to talk about since there were no games yesterday. So enjoy your long weekend. Next FTB is on Monday and perhaps we will have more to talk about then, but I doubt the Leafs would break news on a long weekend... or would they?

The Blue Jays are in Detroit to play the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 on Sunday.

Something to pay attention to this weekend if you are in or near Toronto is that there's a 6:00 p.m. deadline today (Saturday) for the TTC to reach a collective bargaining agreement before the CUPE Local 2 workers go on strike. This is already an extension to the original deadline of last night. They are responsible for maintenance of the physical electrical infrastructure (subways and streetcars). It is unclear what will happen if they don't come to a deal, as the operators, which are in a completely different union, may still refuse to cross picket lines at the various TTC facilities.
