Everyone keeps telling us that goalies are extremely important this season, as if that’s new. Now that the Leafs have one less, I want to start us on what we hope will be a season-long experiment in taking your temperature as to how you feel about the goalies.

Before the season began, I asked you about Aaron Dell:
Very few people had bought in on the idea of actually playing the third goalie much, so let’s start there. Now that Dell is gone, and Hutchinson is the third, what do you think?
Last five years, in the NHL, their records are:
Dell: 5790 minutes, all with San Jose, with a Save % of .909, and a delta of Fenwick over Expected Fenwick of 0.1
Hutchinson: 4456 minutes on four teams, with a Save % of .901, and a delta Fenwick of -0.89
Dell is approximately league average on his career, and Hutchinson is below league average, but still in the NHL backup zone — just.
How many games will Michael Hutchinson start for the Leafs

None, he’s just a backup backup.
Less than 10, but not zero.
Less than 20, but more than 10.
And now for the Andersen and Campbell question. How are you feeling about them?
How do you feel about Andersen and Campbell?

Andersen is clearly the starter and Campbell should be the backup.
They should be a tandem and play the same number of games.
Campbell should play more.
Campbell should be the starter and Andersen should be the backup.
