LEAFS WIN! LEAFS WIN! LEAFS WIN!
Nazem Kadri scores one of the most amazing goals I've ever seen and Jean-Sebastien Giguere (and posts) holds on for the W.
GO LEAFS GO!
This is your overflow thread.
Bruins 1 @ Leafs 1: Three the hard way
No scoring in the second frame. Leafs killed off the lone Bruins PP of the game (thus far) and continue to pepper Tim Thomas with shots. It's going to take something special to beat Thomas tonight. Colton Orr even looks like a real NHLer next to Nazem Kadri.
Bruins 1 @ Leafs 1: Second period style
Not a terrible period of hockey. Outside of a brutal turnover by Tim Brent, the Leafs were OK. Carl Gunnarsson goes to the far post and pots an easy one (hmmmmmm....). Could be a lot worse.

Capital Punishment
I really feel for Jonas Gustavsson. I don't think he's being paid nearly enough for the effort he's giving night in, night out. I can't see a way Jean-Sebastien Giguere reclaims a majority of the starts upon his return. Unfortunately, we'
Leafs 0 @ Sens 3: le sigh
Mike Fisher pots two in the second and the Leafs need a miracle. Good thing we got to listen to Mike Milbury talk about the Kessel trade on Hot Stove.

How about that Jonas Gustavsson? So hot right now. He's still waiting for the other 18 guys to show up though.

The Neverending Story
The Toronto Maple Leafs' well documented struggles in Buffalo continued last night, losing 3-1 to the division-rival Sabres. Ryan Miller made his triumphant return from injury and nabbed 35 saves to stymie the Buds yet again. The Buffalo goaltender has a career save percentage of .930 against Toronto, including
Them's the breaks
Despite some solid effort at times, the Maple Leafs fell to the Canadiens 2-0 last night. Carey Price came up with 30 big saves to overshadow an excellent, 37 save performance by Leafs netminder Jonas Gustavsson. Even with great goaltending, it's tough to steal a game when the
That Next Place
Pat Burns passed away yesterday afternoon at the age of 58. One of the most successful coaches in NHL history, he led the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and New Jersey Devils to a combined 501 victories. In 15 NHL seasons, he only missed the playoffs three times.
Great Expectations
Last January, the Leafs lost a Saturday night match-up with the Vancouver Canucks despite a two goal lead in the first period. It turned out to be the final nail in the coffin on several Leaf careers, as the next morning saw Brian Burke swing two major deals with the
Canucks @ Leafs - Three the Hard Way
Rule #1 for Toronto: Stay out of the penalty box. Christian Ehrhoff scores 3 seconds into a Canucks powerplay to put Vancouver up 3-2. Mikhail Grabovski rebounds from a couple of big hits to beat Luongo with a nifty little snap shot from the slot. The Leafs played a much
Canucks @ Leafs: Second Period Style
Freddie Sjostrom and Phil Kessel pot first period goals to give the Buds an early lead. It quickly evaporated after a stupid penalty by John Mitchell leads to a Daniel Sedin tally, followed by Ryan Kesler getting behind Luke Schenn and potting the tying goal.
Leafs are getting out-muscled so
Oh Kadri, My Kadri
So I'm sure all of you know that Nazem Kadri will make his first true appearance as a Maple Leaf tonight against Vancouver. Keith Allen, that freakin wookie on skates, will make his as well. This is pretty big news, considering the timing and poor play of the
I think we've seen enough
I've never been one to withhold somewhat 'unpopular' ideas. I know not all of you will agree with me today. That said, it is absolutely time for a coaching change in Toronto. Ron Wilson's record with the Leafs now sits at 69-78-30 over 177
I could go for some timbits...
I miss living in Canada and stopping by Timmy's on Saturday morning. The Leafs haven't played since Wednesday, so there aren't a ton of updates to report. Korbinian Holzer may make his first appearance as a Leaf tonight, going up against a Ryan Miller-less
Should the Leafs consider a change in system?
Two games. One hundred and twenty minutes of scoreless hockey from the Toronto Maple Leafs. That's certainly not the longest a team has ever gone without scoring a goal. But seven goals in their last six games? That can't continue (and it probably won't)
Rangers 2 @ Leafs 0 - Third period thread
Leafs are getting dangerously close to being shutout for two consecutive games. The Buds have had the puck a lot, but they are having no success getting into high scoring areas. The Rangers are packing the slot in front of Lundqvist and the Leafs don't have the size
Hocus Pocus
Nothing could be finer than to kick start the Halloween festivities with a home win for the Leafs on Hockey Night in Canada. It's the third time this month the Leafs will face the Rangers, and New York will again be missing two of their top offensive players
Rangers @ Maple Leafs: The Rubber Match
7PM ET: CBC, NHLNET (US)
The New York Rangers make a return visit to the Air Canada Center tonight, marking the third time this month the two teams have met. The Leafs took the first game in the series 4-3, with Phil Kessel scoring a powerplay goal in overtime for
It only gets tougher from here
The Leafs played a relatively weak October schedule to kick off the season. Tonight's game against the Rangers marks the end of the month for Toronto, and as the team turns it's calender to NoMovember, it will see a much more difficult road ahead. A visit
It's all part of the plan
The Toronto Maple Leafs aren't really as bad as they've looked this week. In fact, their recent run of poor play has actually been a clever ruse orchestrated by yours truly. Why would I do such a thing? One reason: If I have to hear or
Wake Up
Not a ton of Leafs news this a.m. It's possible that we might see Carl Gunnarsson and John Mitchell in the lineup tonight. Part of me thinks it's to give the Leafs a little more size against the Flyers. We'll keep you guys

My girlfriend Katie needs everybody's help. She has never been a big hockey fan (nor sports fan for that matter), but she's been subjected to many a Maple Leaf game over the past three years. Yesterday, she told me that the Leafs would be easier to
