The Sceptres last game was away on January 14, where they lost in regulation 2-1 to Boston. Toronto has a Points % of 0.417 and are in sixth place.
The Goldeneyes last game was on January 11 in Montréal where they lost 1-0 in regulation. Vancouver has a Points % of 0.333 and are in last place.
The difference between these two teams is very minor in terms of wins and losses and goals for and against. They have pretty much identical problems - no goals on the power play, mid-ranked goaltending and low shooting percentages from their big volume shooters.
Vancouver has the additional problem that defender Sophie Jaques is their top shooter, and running the offence through the defence is not a system that works very often. Toronto has the additional problem that no one has been lucky with the puck, and even team goal-leader Daryl Watts has a middling 11% rate of scoring.
Toronto's issues seem like they might just be solved by the transit of the Earth and the unpredictable nature of the game, but Vancouver has more of a systemic issue to solve.
I'd say time will tell, but time is short in this league.
