The Toronto Maple Leafs are hosting their annual rookie tournament at Ricoh Coliseum in just over a week.

Today, the Ottawa Senators announced their roster.

Goaltenders: Marcus Hogberg (Linköping - SHL, Binghamton - AHL), Jordan Hollett (Regina - WHL).

Defencemen: Charles-David Beaudoin (UQTR - OUA, Tulsa - ECHL, Binghamton - AHL), Thomas Chabot (Saint John - QMJHL, Ottawa - NHL), Cody Donaghey (Charlottetown - QMJHL, Sherbrooke - QMJHL), Andreas Englund (Binghamton - AHL, Ottawa - NHL), Macoy Erkamps (Wichita - ECHL, Binghamton - AHL), Christian Jaros (Luleå - SHL), Maxime Lajoie (Swift Current - WHL), Jordan Murray (New Brunswick - AUS, Binghamton - AHL).

Forwards: Drake Batherson (Cape Breton - QMJHL), Logan Brown (Windsor - OHL), Filip Chlapik (Charlottetown - QMJHL), Bobby Dow (Kemptville - CCHL), Alex Formenton (London - OHL), Gabriel Gagne (Wichita - ECHL, Binghamton - AHL), Matteo Gennaro (Calgary - WHL), Parker Kelly (Prince Albert - WHL), Jack Rodewald (Wichita - ECHL, Binghamton - AHL), Pius Suter (Zurich SC - Swiss-A), Jordan Topping (Tri-City - WHL), Colin White (Boston College - H-East, Binghamton - AHL, Ottawa - NHL).

The team will be coached by the Belleville Senators coaching staff.

This is a very interesting group, showing the level of depth in the Senators organization, but also some unexpected invites.

Pius Suter of ZSC Lions is a 21-year-old undrafted forward who has had a good pair of years playing pro hockey, but doesn’t really seem to be NHL-calibre.

Christian Jaros is a young Slovak playing in Sweden whose claim to fame is that he hits hard, but hasn’t ever depeloped a scoring side to his game.

Jack Rodewald will be familiar with Ricoh, as he was signed by the Marlies out of junior, played a few games, played a few more in Orlando, but never stuck. He played most of last season for the B-Sens.

There are a few undrafted junior hockey players on invites, but most of the team are Ottawa draft picks or AHL-signed players.

We eagerly await the Leafs roster for this event, and just hope we get it before the day of the first game.
