Flames 2 - Leafs 0: Second period thread
Obviously PPP tainted the Leafs tonight with his fill-in GDT (thanks bud, btw). Now let's get back to our winning ways.
Future Flames v. Future Leafs
If the Leafs win tonight then they win the Phaneuf trade. No, it's true. That's how this works. Just kidding, there's no way the Leafs did anything but win this thing. Even Kypreos knows that. Tonight is just another chance to rub some saly
Flames at Leafs: A Rivalry Born of GMs Emerges
7PM ET: CBC
It's been a whole week without hockey and personally my thumbs are tired of twiddling. We watched the Senators get pumped by Colorado to become the odds on favorites to draft Nail Yakupov (20pts in 8GP in the OHL so far...) but remember that Daigle
Maple Leafs 6 - Senators 5: A Win Is A Win Is A Win
The Toronto Maple Leafs held on for dear life as they beat the Ottawa Senators 6-5. I'm not entirely sure what happened but I suspect that the Leafs were just doing their part to keep James Reimer grounded by reminding him that he needs their help to win
Leafs 2 - Sens 0: second period thread
Mikhail Grabovski scores on a 4 min powerplay and Phil Kessel puts a laser beam behind Craig Anderson a few minutes later. Leafs start slow again, but finish the first strong. James Reimer still standing strong in net.
Those screams aren't from the nasal spray

Leave it to Mr. Carey Price to start the 2011-2012 NHL season with a thud. Looks like the beginning of a wonderful winter in Montreal. As for the Leafs, well...they won. It wasn't the greatest performance we've seen, but James Reimer was reliable when needed.
Fuck the Habs
Matthew Lombardi announces his presence with authority, scoring a shorthanded goal after some of the worst defensive play I've ever seen. #15 looks like he's in midseason form already. Amazingly, the Leafs continue to struggle on the powerplay. Poor zone entry and little movement. Reimer wasn&
Making children cry is mean. Making children sized men cry is hilarious.
Oh boy. Leafs not looking too good to start the season, having an especially difficult time simply breaking out of their zone. James Reimer playing big in the net so far. Komisarek and Schenn have struggled in the early going.
Time to turn it around. GO LEAFS GO!

Opening Night: Back to Basics
Opening night is finally here and despite our best intentions Tyler Bozak is still centering the first line. It's been a long summer as Leafs Nation twiddled their thumbs hoping for Brad Richards, hoping for not Brad Richards, and waiting for birky's insane Paul Stastny plan
Leafs Lose 4-2 to Close Out the Preseason
The Leafs lose to Ty Conklin and the Red Wings, 4-2. The only thing left between now and the regular season is a handful of roster cuts, as Ron Wilson needs to "make some tough decisions," which have probably been made easier given some injuries to the team.
One last chance to impress

Leafs Win In Overtime - 4-3 on Gardiner's Play and Komisarek's Goal
Jake Gardiner opens the scoring, Mike Brown scores two, and Mike Komisarek nets a game winning goal. Offense from Mike Brown and the Back End makes up for a couple of defensive lapses in the Leafs' second to last pre-season game.
There were a couple undue penalites that fell

I'll spare you all from pointing out that dressing Jay Rosehill in no way prevented Chris Neil from cheapshotting one of our best players and instead will point out that if he's not suspended for their first matchup I hope Colton Orr caves his face in.
