With their main tandem on teams at the World Cup, the Leafs are reported to be hedging their goaltending bets with a PTO for an experienced goalie.

One of the pluses for the new Leafs' backup, signed just a few days ago, was that he wasn't on a World Cup team, so he would be available for all of training camp. So much for that.

Nazem Kadri has a bit of a reputation. He draws a lot of penalties, takes a few himself for diving, and pays some fines. He also takes a lot of hits.

Hockey is finally on its way. The AHL schedule is out, and there are some changes and improvements for this year.

No one will be laughing at the Marlies this year.

It's a bit busy in the Leafs office today. They're not spending any time lamenting free agents gone by, they're getting on with filling rosters and looking ahead to training camp.
