The Leafs lead the series three games to two and have two more tries at closing out this first-round series. As was clear last night, most series in this year's first round are tough contests going to six or seven games to solve.

Andrei Vasilevskiy plays his best game of the playoffs to take the series back to Tampa Bay. The Maple Leafs can't convert on their chances, and struggled, albeit a lot less, at what we used to call driving play. Auston Matthews tried his best, but he couldn't do it twice in a row.

The Leafs want to bottle up that Lightning and put it on the shelf for another year. And no one thinks that's going to be easy. The fourth win is a hard thing to get.

Last offseason was the summer of the Leafs goalie. Up front, the Leafs got obvious fit Zach Aston-Reese. They tried a couple of others who didn't work out and they rolled to the trade deadline with mostly last year's team, as expected. It was the goalie moves that mattered for the regular season.
